Create a Timeline


Today, everyone will create their own timeline about their day.  You must include at least five events in your timeline.  Here are some examples of events you may use if you want:

6:30 am - I wake up
8:00 am - I start school
12:00 pm - I eat lunch
3:30 pm - I do homework
4:00 pm - I go to yoga (or basketball or soccer)
5:00 pm - I leave After School
6:30 pm - I eat dinner
7:00 pm - I watch TV
8:00 pm - I go to bed

Welcome to the National Hour of Code!

This year, schools across America are taking part in an "Hour of Code" project.  We will begin by watching a short video about why learning how use code is important. After the video, everyone will click on the link below and play the game to help the Angry Bird catch the pig.

Thanksgiving Cards & Spelling City

First, we will start by drawing a Thanksgiving card using Pixie.  Everyone's card must include a picture of a turkey and the following:

  • To ___________________ (someone you love)
  • Happy Thanksgiving
  • Love, _________________ (your name)

Christopher Columbus & Geography Today

First, we will watch the Brainpop video about Christopher Columbus and his journey.  After the video, we will take the Quiz together to see what you have learned.

Next, we will practice identifying all 7 continents on the world map:

More Patterns Today then Raz-Kids

Uncover the quilt pattern by choosing the correct shape and fabric to fill all of the holes on the quilt.  We will watch the tutorial together on the Smartboard and then everyone will go to their own computer and try it on their own.

Welcome to Technology Class & The 1st Grade Tech Blog!

Can you believe that you are now 1st Graders? I hope you had a great time this summer! I am so excited about teaching you again this year and I am looking forward to working on some fun technology projects with you. These are the things we will do during class today:
  1. Talk about the rules for Technology class.
  2. Learn how to use the 1st Grade Technology Blog.
  3. Watch a short video about patterns.
  4. Go to your own computer and practice recognizing patterns by playing the games I have listed below.  
  5. If we have time after you have finished both games, you will draw your own pattern using Pixie. Don't forget to type your name.
